Went out today with a few guys for seabass. Headed south of block and were we rewarded. We nailed cod, 70 cod all averaging around 15-20lbs and 4 pollock averaging around 20-25lbs. The Seabass just wasn't appealing to the guys after that bite. Who would figure to cod in june.

5-25-2008

Left the dock at 1am and headed to the tile grounds. When we arrived we found baby doggies everywhere mixed in with a few tiles. Fished the area for about two hours and decided to make a hour and a half ride west of block canyon. Slow pick of tiles all day we averaged a little over a hundred fish and Wing had one whiting. Not to bad at least we found them, and no doggies after the move. =) Returned back to montauk and stopped at frisbees to try a bit for seabass, and nada. Wind picked up and so did we. Just want to thank all who came on board today for our first tile trip on our cat.

5-18-2008

We went out in the morning for some seabass. A bunch of runts with a few decent sized sea bass. Largest seabass about 4lbs. Fishing for the seabass was pretty hellish hundreds of doggies flew over the rails. So we moved toward the radar and fished the afternoon for some fluke. 60 some fluke came over the rails most of them only 20 inches. Total 8 keeper fluke caught and the largest was a 23 inch fluke caught by Chrissy.

4-30-2008

Fished for blackfish with 16 hardcore Korean fishermen. They are willing to go out in any sea condtion thrown at them. Man do they love blackies, We caught our limit in no time on the very last day of the blackfish season. These gentlemen out with us, sure do know how to eat. I think they brought everything except their kitchen sink. Blackfish sashimi.............. delicious.

4-27-2008

Headed south of Block island today in search of cod. What we found was doggies everywhere. We caught maybe a dozen cod a bunch of bergalls and hundreds of dogs. we were even catching them on jigs. Sigh..... Better luck next year. Time to move onto the next species of fish.

4-20-2008

The trip started a little late, but better then never. We arrived to the fishing grounds at 7am and started a slow pick of cod. We could not seem to find the stack of cod we found yesterday but all the cod that came over today were averaging 12lbs. As the day progressed the bite picked up with alot more keeper cod than yesterday. Total catch for the day was 110 cod, 50 Bergalls, and 40 Ling. We just want to thank all came out this weekend to fish with us.....

4-19-2008

Had a superb day of fishing from 6 to 9 am just non stop actions with double header cod consistently coming over the rails with a bunch of shorts in the mix. The bite just seemed to shut down right after the tide change. Anchored up and we found a nice black fish up to 10lbs. For a small group of 10 guys they managed a bit more than 80 cod, 50 jumbo bergalls, 50 Ling Lings and 4 blackies. We made a run to coxes ledge and found zero.

4-13-2008

We had a slow pick of cod from morning till noon. The trip was saved when we drifted over a stacked up pile of fish. We made two passes and anchored on top of them, the double headers of cod instantly began coming over the rails and they all were spitting herring up. It was a mixed bag of double header cod, huge ling and giant bergals. High hook of the day was caught Chrissy who landed well over 20 fish. Largest cod was caught by Capt. Vinny. It was our pleasure having Vinny on this trip, he is a great capt and a fisherman. Total keeper cod caught in about 2 hours was 40 fish to 15lbs and well over 40 shorts thrown back. 50 Ling to 8lbs and huge number of bergals up to 4lbs. The unfortunate note to add about the trip is the doggies seem to be everywhere. They terrorized us all day.

2-24-2008

Last minute cancellations kept us at dock. Sigh! Well I guess we will try again this coming weekend. No report.

2-17-2008

Left dock around 5:50 in search of cod marked a bunch of fish but no fish wanted our bait, Chrissy did manage to foul hook a cod. Fishing was very slow probably due to the storm that was approaching. Nice ride out weather changed for the worse around 11. We fished a bunch of spots even ran to the coxes ledge. Gave up around 2 and headed in. Hopefully next week will show some better weather and fishing.

2-4-2008

Left dock at 5am and headed for a wreck when we arrived at the spot SeaHag2 was already anchored up. We fished around her for a bit nothing but dogs. Capt was kind enough to let us anchor up next to them. Much thanks to Captain Richard and Captain Amanda! Once anchored the ling just poured over the rails. Total catch for the 2 hours that we fished 1 pollock, 10 conger eels, 50 red hake, a hand full of keeper cods. It was just a nice day to be out fishing. =)
